Tyrone Bacchus was born in Guyana, South America, a rainforest country situated between Venezuela and Brazil.
He is a member of Equity and the Directors Guild of Great Britain.

He qualified in Business Studies,  and after a successful career in commerce, decided to pursue his true passion, a career in film, and trained in the Lee Strasberg Method at the Actor's Centre.

Pursuing his lifelong interest in the theatre, he appeared in productions of Othello, Hamlet and Titus Andronicus at the old Shakespeare Globe Theatre,the Cockpit Theatre and Riverside Studios.

He then made various appearances in commercials,tv and film, including Eastenders, The Bill, Passage to India, Buster,The Living Daylights,Superman 1V, Fifth Element etc.

His influences as Directors are David Lean
 (In the early stages of his career, he was an extra on Passage to India for two weeks, and got to see and experience close up, a master class in Directing on set by David Lean).

Tyrone is also a huge fan of Francois Trauffaut,Jean-luc Godard,Akira Kurosawa,Abbas Kiarostami,Takeshi Kitano,John Woo,Lloyd Kaufman,Chan-wook Park,Quentin Tarantino, and  Stephen Chow, having seen "Shaolin Soccer" and then his latest movie "Kung Fu Hustle" while he was in Beijing in Dec 2004 on a project.

He started Tyrrell Films in 2004(named after the corporation in the movie "Bladerunner", as he is an ardent sci-fi fan as well)

As an actor, writer, producer and director, his mission is to make entertaining, insightful and thought provoking movies and documentaries that mix different cultures and challenges existing concepts.

Tyrone is a great traveller and has been fortunate in having frequent opportunities to indulge his passion, visiting Western Europe, Egypt, Dubai, South Korea, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Japan, Los Angeles, Shanghai and most recently Beijing as a sightseer and also on location scouting for various projects in different stages of development.

His hobbies are travelling and experiencing different cultures and their food. books, music, writing, running, cinema and of course learning to salsa!

Tyrone successfully ran his first London Marathon in April 2005 for the National Autistic Society Charity and plans to do so again in the near future..
